On 18-19 June, we participated in the 13th International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG® 2020. Łukasiewicz – Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy received three awards for the submitted inventions.
The 13th International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG® 2020 was held online on 18-19 June 2020. During the show, we presented our invention, Ultra-strength Nanostructured Steel, submitted for the contest, which was awarded the prestigious diploma from the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy for the high level of technology readiness.

On 29 May 2019, the Institute received an award in the 5th edition of the “Technical Safety Leader” Ranking in Category III – Laboratories Recognised by the Office of Technical Inspections.
12th International Warsaw Invention Show “IWIS 2018” was held on October 15-17, 2018. The said event is organized on annual basis by the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers in cooperation with the Polish Patent Office and Warsaw University of Technology.
This is the largest event in Poland that promotes inventiveness and innovations. Every year, scientists representing more than 25 countries, inter alia, Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Egypt, Iran, Canada, Malaysia, Korea, Turkey, Romania, Taiwan and Poland take part in the show. Inventors present innovations constituting reviews of technical achievements, some already in practical application, and some awaiting implementation. Every year, the show is accompanied by lectures and speeches on intellectual property protection as well as Global Chemical Competition.
The Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy along with Silesian University of Technology was awarded with bronze medal for the project entitled: “THE EVALUATION SYSTEM OF RESIDUAL LIFE OF MATERIALS FOR POWER UNITS WITH 50+ EFFICIENCY”.
With its resolution dated March 26, 2018, the Council of the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science decided to award Mr. Roman Kuziak, Prof. Dr. Hab. with “Honorary Medal” in recognition of long-term cooperation in realization of innovative R&D projects as well as development of publications for renowned international scientific journals.
Special award at an International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition IPITEx 2018 held in Bangkok, Thailand, on Feb 2-6, 2018 was granted to an invention entitled "Forecasting of residual life in austenitic power plant".
10th edition of the International Warsaw Invention Show ”IWIS 2016” was held on October 10-12, 2016. The project entitled: ”Cooling rate as a method of improving of mechanical properties of regenerated cast steel” was awarded with gold medal.

Invention entitled ”Forecasting the residual durability in low-alloy steels after long-term ageing” received special award at an International Exhibition of Innovations ”KIWIE 2016” organized in Seul by Korea Women Inventors Association (KWIA), in recognition of the most creative and innovative solution.

Instytut Metalurgii Żelaza received a diploma of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the project entitled “Designing life of the components operating in creep conditions with use of artificial intelligence methods”. The concerned project has already been awarded with gold medal with mention during the International Warsaw Invention Show - „IWIS 2015”.
A formal gala for presenting statuettes and honorable mentions in the National Stanisław Staszic Contest for the best innovative products, “Laurel in the field of innovation 2015” was held on November 25, 205.
The Institute submitted a project entitled “System of assessment of durability of materials for power engineering”, which was honoured with bronze laurel in the field of innovativeness.

Scientific and Programme Council as well as Organization Committee of X International Armament Conference on Scientific Aspects of Armament Technology and Safety awarded Instytut Metalurgii Żelaza with Honorable Diploma for active support and promotion of International Armament Conferences.
IX Scientific Conference Inżynieria Powierzchni (Surface Engineering) INPO 2014 took place on September 7-10, 2014 in Wisla. Poster Session Jury honored the poster entitled ”Degradation of the microstructure of thermal barrier coating manufactured by means of EB-PVD method on nano-crystalline nickel of second generation”, the coauthor of which was Mr. Radosław Swadźba, Msc. Eng, the Institute’s employee.
Instytut Metalurgii Żelaza received a diploma of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the project entitled: “New method for improvement of the lifecycle of normal gauge rails”.
A "Staszic" prize for "2nd generation S550W steel of improved mechanical and practical properties as well as corrosion resistance, to be used in production of sections for mining supports' doorframes in coalmines" project.
