61st International Fairs "BRUSSELS INNOVA 2012" devoted to transfer of technologies and implementation of technological progress were held on November 15-17, 2012.
The invention submitted by the Institute, entitled "New method of improving the lifecycle of normal gauge rails" was awarded with a gold medal. New solution assumes that during heat hardening, the head is submerged for a short time in cycles, and following that time the solution is partially removed from the container, which results in the level of the solution dropping below the head, and thus slowing down cooling process. This ensures homogenous hardness in head volume.
The invention was patented by Prof. Dr. Roman KUZIAK in cooperation with Dr. Tomasz ZYGMUNT.
