In 2006, modelled after the Mordica Memorial Award granted by the Wire Association International since 1969, the Wire Association International – Poland Chapter established the Professor Marian Schneider Award, who was a precursor of Polish drawing, which is awarded for contribution to the development of plastic working, including drawing, in Poland and abroad.

For comprehensive achievements in the field of research into plastic working processes, Professor Roman Kuziak was honoured with the prestigious Schneider Award in 2019 during the 8th International Drawing Conference – New Technological Aspects of Producing Wire Rods, Wires and Metal Products Manufactured Using Modern Metal Forming Processes, organised by the Wire Association International.
